Vijayakanth and Vikraman are coming together for ‘Mariyathai’ after many years since the blockbuster ‘Vanathai Pola’.

Award-winning actress Meera Jasmine co-stars Vijayakanth in this flick. Produced by Amma creations, the film will have ‘Captain’ donning in dual roles. Vijay Antony scores the music. The film is expected to go on floors next month.

The duo of Vikraman-Vijayakanth gave a clean, family entertainer ‘Vanathai Pola’ which ran to packed houses in almost all the centers. Probably after ‘Vaitheki Kaathirunthal’, it was the movie which gave larger scopes of performance for the action-stamped actor to do emotionally packed, sentimental roles.

'Mariyathai', set in the village backdrop, would not be like any usual product from Vikraman, filled with any sentimental stuff or emotional drama.

As of now, the audition for selecting one more heroine to feature opposite Captain other than Meera is in progress. The hunt is also on to seek for the talented artists and technicians to be included in the crew of ‘Mariyathai’.
